The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has identified the deceased as Mirai Shepard, aged 19. Shepard died after drowning in the lake outside of SoFi Stadium.
According to reports from Fox Los Angeles, stadium officials stated that law enforcement promptly dispatched a search and rescue team upon spotting an individual in the lake around 9:45 p.m. on Friday.
In a statement released on Saturday, SoFi Stadium expressed deep sadness upon learning of the individual's passing. SoFi Stadium, which serves as the home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Rams of the NFL.
